愛媛県小児科医会は、平成元年３月１２日開催の総会で、下記の「タバコの煙から子どもたちを守ろう」との表明案を採択し、関係機関などに送付しました。　
　このことが、平成元年６月２６日の愛媛新聞朝刊の”ずうむいん愛媛”で大きく取り上げられました。

　タバコは喫煙者だけでなく、周りの人達の健康に悪い影響を及ぼします。

　特に発育期の子どもたちにとってタバコの煙は有害です。子どもたちはタバコの恐ろしさを知らず、タバコの煙に対して無防備です。
　
　愛媛県小児科医会は、タバコの煙から子どもたちを生涯にわたり守るため、家庭、学校、地域、行政に働きかけ、喫煙予防に取り組みます。

１．子どもたちの目や耳に、タバコの広告がはいらないように

Let's protect children from tobacco smoke

The negative health effects caused by tobacco are not limited merely to smokers, but also affect those around them.
The effect on growing children is especially harmful.Children don't know how dangerous tobacco is and they are defenceless against it.
Ehime Pediatric Association will ask for a life long committment from the home, school, community, and government to protect children from tobacco smoke.
